A Typical Day at Preschool
Kids of Peace Preschool programming appeals to all the different ways that kids learn.
Each learning activity provides your child with the opportunity to make friends, learn how to share, develop language skills and how to follow directions.
Kids of Peace Preschool Sample Schedule (subject to change)
- Greeting/Circle Time
- Activity Time
- Activity Stations (a balance of Art, Sensory, and Manipulatives)
- Large Motor Time (indoor or outdoor)
- Bathroom Break/Wash Hands
- Quiet Learning
- Goodbye Song
A variety of teacher-directed activities that allow children to express themselves through song, stories and sharing.
Children are empowered to explore activities that develop their own natural curiosity at various subject stations (i.e. blocks, math).
Art Skills Development
Children develop hand-eye coordination and find muscles that benefit their writing ability. They also enjoy expressing themselves through a wide variety of artistic activities such as seasonal crafts.
Large Motor Skills Development
Children build their muscles as they develop balance, coordination, and physical confidence while playing both indoors and outdoors.
Preschool classes gather monthly with Word of Peace Pastors and Education Staff to learn a little bit about worship. During Chapel time, children enjoy a fun story (similar to a Children's sermon in church), sing songs, and enjoy a blessing. Kids of Peace also incorporates Bible stories and learning Bible verses throughout the month.
Field Trips and Special Occasions
Throughout the year, children enjoy a variety of outings (i.e. field trips to the local library & fire station), visits from area professionals (police, dentists, farmers), and are even invited to have special guests join them at preschool for a day. Children also celebrate their birthdays (or 1/2 birthday) as well as several holidays. These adventures combined with themed days (Beach Day) all celebrate your child's learning!
